Evonik to Raise Prices of High Performance Polymers and Monomers
Evonik Industries AG, Germany, will raise prices of their entire range of high performance polymers and monomers by an average of 10%, and up to 15% in US dollar-based regions, depending on product type. Customers will be informed of specific price increases by their regional representatives. The increase will become effective June 1, 2008.
Steep increases in raw material prices, including the key material butadiene, coupled with the dramatic weakening of the US dollar against the Euro, have forced Evonik to take this decision.
The High Performance Polymers Business Line focuses on the production of customized products, semi-finished products, and systems based on high-performance polymers. It currently employs more than 1,000 people in Marl and at the production sites of Darmstadt, Witten (both in Germany), Lenzing (Austria), Magnolia (Arkansas, USA), Aboshi (Japan), and Changchun (China). It also has access to a worldwide sales and marketing network that includes the hubs of Marl, Shanghai, and Parsippany.
