PARAGLAS SOUNDSTOP® Partners with Durisol USA In Exclusive Distributorship Agreement
Effort will Continue Expansion of PARAGLAS SOUNDSTOP® in U.S.
PARSIPPANY, N. J., June 26, 2007 – CYRO Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of Degussa Corporation, has announced that Durisol USA, Inc. was selected as exclusive distributor of CYRO's PARAGLAS SOUNDSTOP® Ready-Fit Panels and PARAGLAS SOUNDSTOP Noise Barrier Sheet products in the United States and Canada. Used in Europe for almost 30 years, PARAGLAS SOUNDSTOP was introduced here in 2002 and has experienced significant success due to its ability to block highway sound while maintaining aesthetics.
PARAGLAS SOUNDSTOP Ready-Fit Panels are comprised of transparent, acrylic noise barrier sheets in a fully fabricated frame-and-panel assembly system. It can be adapted to any ground-mounted noise barrier system and features panels that maintain natural views – while effectively blocking noise from highways, trains and other sources. Panels may also be “dropped-in” to replace standard, non-transparent sections in an existing noise barrier, in order to improve the current appearance.
“Durisol will provide customers with its unsurpassed engineering and marketing expertise in the construction of noise wall barrier systems and facilitate our participation in the U.S. marketplace,” said Eric Humphries, CYRO Industries’ marketing manager, Noise Protection Products. “They are uniquely equipped to perform end-to-end noise wall system production – offering customers everything from design and engineering services to absorptive and transparent noise wall panels to construction and installation services, for a complete noise wall barrier system supplier.” Added Michael K. Edwards, Vice President of Operations for McLean, Va.-based Durisol USA, “SOUNDSTOP®’s unique composition allows for optimal noise abatement while preserving local vistas and maintaining visibility for off-highway businesses. These panels offer an attractive solution to sight limitations and sun blockage resulting from high, imposing noise walls required by noise abatement guidelines. CYRO/Degussa occupies a leading global position, its products are world-class and its PARAGLAS SOUNDSTOP has already been implemented effectively in California, Ohio, Alaska, New Jersey, New York and Ontario and Alberta, Canada, with great success.”
The SOUNDSTOP® sheet’s resistance to the elements and excellent light transmission -- which remains unaffected by sunlight -- combines for optimal visuals. PARAGLAS SOUNDSTOP® Ready-fit Panels are easy to install and retain their clarity for decades. With efficient cleaning attained simply by rainfall and hands-free graffiti removal with just a spray solvent and power wash, maintenance is quick-and-easy for local transportation departments.
PARAGLAS SOUNDSTOP® Ready-Fit Panels are ideal for blocking highway noise while preserving visibility and light and are available in a wide range of color options, including colorless and several translucent shades of Smoky Brown, Midnight Blue, Steel Blue, Sky Blue, Forest Green, Sea Green and Spring Green.
